Foodie Feature: Noor Al Sham

Type: Shawarma & Syrian Cuisine

Location: Catering Service- Buffet Style or Plated Dining

If you've attended World Refugee Day celebrations in Utah or any other local celebration of food, you've probably seen Chef Noor Abdul-Bari's food truck, Noor Al Sham.

Chef Noor delivers some of the most delicious dishes from his home of Damascus, including beautiful dips, shawarma, and barbecue. He also pickles his own vegetables.

The ESLC was so glad to have Chef Noor cater our recent event, Literacy Legacy Night, where we were able to offer chicken and beef kabobs, hummus and bread, and a beautiful fattoush salad. The line at the food tables was busy throughout the whole event as attendees went back for seconds and thirds of the delicious meal!

The kabob was a favorite for all, full of flavor and great for a buffet-style meal. Not only was it flavorful, it was tender and made a lovely presentation as well. Another favorite was the muhammara, a dip made from red peppers, walnuts, and a touch of spicy jalapeno peppers. It works well as a dip for meat entrees, added to rice, or to go along with bread!

If you have an upcoming event and would like to change up from your typical catering, please consider contacting Noor Al Sham. He is friendly, prompt, and delivers great flavors that will be sure to impress your guests!
